Key PTI Twitter account retires after NA-75 Daska defeat

Lahore: A key Twitter account belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf retired on late Saturday night shortly after the party suffered a defeat in NA-75 Daska by-election at the hands of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN).

The account followed by more than 17,000 people including Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, senior PTI leaders and journalists sent out what it said its last tweet which read, “Would like to thank everyone who has supported us over these 2 years. Unforturnately, NA75 bypoll was our last election. The account would be dormant from now on and may be deactivated soon. We wish @ImranKhanPTI best of luck in his future endevours. Thankyou.”

Launched in 2018, the Twitter account “PTI Politics” was dedicated to “Privately covering by poll campaigns and development work of PTI”
