Khawar Ghumman joins ARY to replace Sabir Shakir

Islamabad: TV anchor Khawar Ghumman on Tuesday announced he has resigned from Dunya TV to join ARY News.

The journalist who left Dawn newspaper to join the electronic media a few years ago has a large following in Pakistan.

In a statement released on Twitter, Ghumman thanked Dunya News management and his colleagues for supporting him.

Sources said that Ghumman is replacing senior anchor Sabir Shakir who recently resigned in mysterious circumstances.

Sabir Shakir also congratulated Ghumman on his new job and expressed the hope that he would play a ‘long innings’.
