Lightning strikes in Hyderabad amid heavy rain
Hyderabad:At least two incidents of lightning strikes were filmed on camera after heavy rain lashed Hyderabad on Friday.
In one of the incident lightning hit an electricity pole.
People can be heard gasping in fear as lightening struck during the rain.
Scientists say that climate change is increasing the likelihood of lightning strikes, according to Reuters news agency.
More heat can draw more moisture into the atmosphere, while also encouraging rapid updraft – two key factors for charged particles, which lead to lightning.
Because heat and moisture are often needed to make lightning, most strikes happen in the summer.
The hot, humid conditions are primed for electricity
