Lt. Col Laeeq killed in Balochistan two days after abduction
Quetta: Pakistan Army officer Lieutenant Colonel Laeeq Baig Mirza has been killed two days after he was abducted near Ziarat.
The army’s media wing ISPR said Laeeq Baig Mirza was abducted along with his cousin Umar Javed in the night between 12 and 13 July.
It said the army’s Quick Reaction Force chased terrorists and found their hide out near Mangi Dam. The ISPR said in a statement two terrorists were killed in am exchange of fire.
In a statement, the outlawed BLA has taken responsibility for killing Lt Col Laeeq Baig Mirza. The spokesperson for the banned organization said the army official was “awarded death sentence’ by a ‘Baloch national court”.
It was not immediately known whether his body was recovered.
Lt.Col Laeeq was reportedly associated with DHA Quetta.
