Mahmood Choudhry: Who’s Bakhtawar Bhutto’s husband-to-be

Pakistanis are curious to learn more details about Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s husband-to-be Mahmood Chohdry after it was announced that she would get engaged to a son of a Pakistani businessman.

According to reports, Mahmood Chodhry is the son of Younas Chodhry. Mr Mahmood runs a private Instagram account which is followed by Bakhtawar and more than 100 other people. He has shared 190 posts which can only be seen by his followers on the Facebook-owned app.

In the profile picture of Mr Mahmood, he has used a picture of dog head painted onto a human body.

According to a dog lover, “having a dog painted with a human body might sound exceedingly strange.  However anthropomorphism (the attribution of human characteristics to an animal is very popular.”

Apart from that little is known about the man who is going to marry the grand-daughter of Pakistan People’s Party founder and former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Bakhtawar is elder sister of Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and daughter of Mohtarman Benazir Bhutto, who served as the first female prime minister of any Muslim country (Pakistan).

The PPP on Saturday announced on Twitter that the engagement ceremony of Bakhtar would take place on November 27 in Karachi.

“President @AAliZardari is pleased to announce, with the grace of God, the engagement of his and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s daughter @BakhtawarBZ with Mr. Mahmood Chaudhry on November 27, 2020,” read the tweet.

According to Dawn, the engagement will take place at Bilawal House in Karachi, which will also be the venue of the couple’s Mehndi, scheduled for January 27, 2021

“A note accompanying the invitation for the engagement ceremony requested all attendees to email a scanned copy of their negative Covid-19 PCR test result 24 hours prior to the event. “This is a mandatory requirement for security clearance,” the leading English daily quoted the invitation as having stated.

According to the notice, no photography or mobile phones will be permitted inside the venue.

“We thank you in advance for adhering to our safety protocols to keep you and your loved ones safe, and enable us all to enjoy the occasion,” it read.
