Mian Tariq Shafi, Nawaz Sharif’s cousin, dies in Murree

Murree: Mian Tariq Shafi, the paternal cousin of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, died of heart attack on Monday in Murree.

The owner of Ittefaq Group of Companies, was the brother-in-law of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Sohail ZIa Butt.

PMLN workers, leaders and Sharif family have expressed condolence to bereaved family over the death of the prominent industrialist who was also a long time Nawaz Sharif loyalist.

Tariq Shafi had also appeared before the Joint Investigation Team that famously probed the Panama Papers scandal against Nawaz Sharif and is family.

Shafi had accused the JIT of mistreating him during his appearance before the panel.
