Miss Wazir: Nowshera bureaucrat wins hearts of flood victims
Peshawar: Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera is fast becoming a role model for women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Quratul Ain Wazir, known only as Miss Wazir on Twitter, is currently serving as the Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning in Nowshera district of the country’s northwestern province.
The woman has played an active role to evacuate and rescue the people of her area amid devastating floods triggered by torrential rains.
Miss Wazir has used her social media account to share timely updates about the situation and has left no stone unturned to reach out to her people.
She has personally overseen the evacuation of hundreds of people to safer places, provision of food and medicine to the flood victims.
Miss Wazir’s pictures from her activities have won hearts of people in the deeply conservative Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Paying tribute to the bureaucrat, a Twitter user shared a picture of Miss Wazir and wrote, “The next time anyone opposes girls’ right to education, show them these pictures.”
