MTJ: Maulana Tariq Jamil criticized for brand launch event ‘invitation’
Karachi: Maulana Tariq Jamil’s clothing brand “MTJ” would be official launched at an event that would be reportedly attended by Rahat Fateh Ali KHan, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan and Ahmed Jahanzeb on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
According to an invitation doing the rounds on social media, the renowned Pakistani singers would recite Hamd and Naat at the launching ceremony being held at Karachi’s Mohatta Palace.
There would be separate sitting arrangements for male and female participants at the event. According to reports, Maulana Tariq Jamil would also deliver a speech on the occasion. While circulating the purported “invite” on social media, several users criticized the maulana for inviting top Pakistani singers instead of Islamic scholars.
Authenticity of the invitation being circulated could not be independently confirmed.
Earlier, Maulana Tariq Jamil had explained that he is launching his clothing brand as part of his efforts to end the financial dependence of his religious seminaries.He had said that the money earned from his business would be spent on various projects for the betterment of people of Pakistan.
