Muhajir Culture Day: Amir Liaquat calls for talks with Altaf Hussain

Karachi: Hundreds of people belonging to the Urdu speaking community gathered in Karachi to celebrate the Muhajir Culture Day 24 December 2021 on Friday.

The participants wore traditional dresses as they celebrated their identity.

PAkistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Amir Liaquat Hussain attended one of the gathering in connection with the day and created quite a stir with his controversial remarks.

The lawmaker said that the state must talk to MQM founder Altaf Hussain if it can hold negotiations with the Taliban militants.

Some participants told The Namal that the organizers found Liaquat’s remarks problematic as they did not intend to create any controversy.

Sense of deprivation is on the rise among the Muhajir community as Urdu speaking community thinks they have been denied their basic rights.

A participant, while speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that the sense of deprivation among Muhajir community can give birth to a party like MQM of Altaf Hussain.
