Najam Sethi praises Imran Khan, explains why PTI chief is targeting establishment
Lahore: Veteran journalist Najam Sethi’s analysis on Imran Khan’s stance on army chief’s appointment was censored after it went on air on a private TV channel Tuesday.
Journalist and YouTuber Tariq Mateen claimed that Sethi’s remarks created panic in Channel 24 and bosses at the private broadcaster decided to cut them from repeat telecast.
In a clip uploaded by Mateen, Sethi admits that Khan capitalized on the narrative the establishment built over the years against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People’s Party.
In the second clip, Najam Sethi said Imran Khan made controversial remarks about the army chief’s appointment because he was being informed that the establishment was divided on whether strict action should be taken against him.
The seasoned journalist, who is known as Khan’s critic, said the establishment first thought that government should react to Imran Khan’s remarks.
