Pakistan Army general gets life sentence , brigadier death for spying

Rawalpindi: Pakistan army on Thursday it has sentenced a Lt. General to life imprisonment and gave death penalties to a brigadier and a civilian for spying.

According to a statement issued by the army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa endorsed the punishment after trial under Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and Official Secret Act by Separate Field General Court Marshal for separate cases.

Lt. General (retd) Javed Iqbal, Brigadier Raja Rizwan and Doctor Wasim Akram , who was employed at a sensitive organization, were convicted on the charges of espionage, leakage of sensitive information to foreign agencies,
