Pakistan army troops called in for Sindh, Punjab, KP, Balochistan amid virus crisis
Islamabad: The Pakistan army troops have been called in for deployment in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Paktunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir amid coronavirus crisis.
According to a notification issued by the Interior Ministry, the army is being deployed under section 131-A of the constitution.
Pakistan has seen a dramatic surge in coronavirus cases during the past few days, with most hit province Sindh going into lockdown.
While the federal government has refused to impose lockdown, Punjab, which is also run by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, on Monday announced a partial lockdown to avert the crisis.
