PM Imran Khan criticized for not attending Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan’s funeral

Islamabad: Pakistan on Sunday bade farewell to national hero Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan who died at the age of 85.

Although Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announced a state funeral for the father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb and ordered his cabinet members to attend the funeral, the former cricket hero and most of his aides chose not to attend the funeral payers for AQ Khan.

Chief Ministers of Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, army chief, Supreme Court Justice were also conspicuous by their absence from the funeral which took place amid heavy rain in the federal capital.
Hundreds of social media users including PTI supporters criticized Khan for not attending the funeral prayers for Dr AQ Khan.
