PM Imran Khan preparing to impose presidential system in Pakistan?
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned army, air force and naval chiefs for an important meeting to discuss the possibility of imposing an emergency, according to a WhatsApp message that has been doing the rounds in journalistic and political circles in Islamabad.
According to the message, Imran Khan wants to take services chiefs into confidence before he asks the president to declare an emergency for three months.
It said a referendum could be held during this period and the country would be run without seeking any approval from the parliament for three months.
According to the message Supreme Court’s intervention would not be accepted during the period of emergency.
It further said that the presidential system was about to be imposed in Pakistan.
