PM Imran says ready to let Nawaz, Zardari go if money is returned

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said he is under no pressure to let Nawaz Sharif and Zardari go.

“This time they will have to give back the money. Then they can go wherever they want to,” he was quoted by Geo News as saying.

The prime minister said no NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) was about to happen, adding that only plea bargain was the option for the jailed politicians.

“Those in jails should know that no foreign country can do anything for them,” said he.

He was also critical of the way Sharif and Zardari are being kept in detention.

“Money launderers are being being kept as VIPs,” the prime minister said.

“Nawaz Sharif says he is not well. Return the money and go for treatment anywhere you want to. Asif Zardari can also return the money if he finds himself in trouble”.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said he had asked the law ministry the politicians should be kept in a jail where a common thief is detained.
