Presence of American army in Islamabad stirs criticism

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government has been criticized after US troops arrived at the Islamabad International Airport from Kabul.

Government’s critics lashed out at Khan for allowing the US troops to enter his country days after saying “Absolutely not”when asked whether Pakistan would allow Americans to use its bases to conduct operations in Afghanistan.

While there were hundreds of political opponents who mocked the government on social media, the supporters of former cricket hero said giving US troops a safe passage was not tantamount to allowing them to use airbases.

According to reports, US soldiers will be accommodated in different hotels in Islamabad but it was not immediately clear for how long they will be staying there.
