‘Pro-India’ banners in Islamabad-Fact-check
Some Pakistani and Indian TV channels on Tuesday went into frenzy over what they called anti-Pakistan banners seen hanging in Islamabad on Monday night.
A number of senior journalists and social media users questioned the capability of local administration of the federal capital which remained unaware of the the banners being put up in the city.
The report came hours after India abolished special status for Occupied Kashmir, evoking article 370.
A Step Forward
“Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena in Rajya Sabh: Aaj Jammu &Kashmir Liya hai Kal Balochistan, PoK lenege. Mujhe Vishwas hai deskh ke PM akhand Hindustan ka sapna poora karenge,” read the message on the banner.
It actually carried a Tweet from Indian news agency ANI and was taken as anti-Pakistan and pro-India.
What people failed to notice was a wrongly placed message on top of the banner that read “Akhand Bharat, Real Terror”.
The anti-India message was missed by majority of people.
