Roomi Fabrics fire extinguished in Multan

Multan: A fire engulfed a cotton factory in Multan and it took 40-hours of efforts by the Pakistan Army and the fire tenders of the Punjab government to douse.

The fire erupted at the godown of Roomi Fabrics on Monday, prompting the authorities to dispatch Rescue 1122 and fire tenders .

Local authorities said the fire engulfed the stocks of lint worth millions of rupees in the godown.

Javed Akhtar Mehmood, Multan commissioner, while visiting the site of the fire praised Rescue 1122 and the Pakistan army for controlling the inferno.

Speaking to the media, he said Rescue 1122 staff and Pakistan Army helicopters worked round-the-clock to put out the fire.
