Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, AJK’s potential PM, caught in scandal
Islamabad: Sardar Tanveer Ilyas is in the race to become the new prime minister of Azad Kashmir after Pakistan Tehreel-e-Insaf won the majority of seats in July 25 election.
The former Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister has found himself in trouble after some explicit WhatsApp messages allegedly sent by him to Khawaja Faheem have been shared online.
A Session Court in Islamabad on July 6 ordered registration of an FIR against Sardar Tanveer Ilyas over Faheem’s complaint after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submitted its report confirming that the complainant had received the objectionable messages .
Dawn reported that Faheem’s lawyer told the court that his client had met Ilyas in Centaurus Mall during the launching ceremony of a private project in 2019.
