Shahzad Akbar rejects Nazir Chohan’s statement about his faith

Islamabad: An FIR has been lodged against PTI Punjab MPA Nazir Chohan on the complaint of Advisor to Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior Mirza Shahzad Akbar for making a false claim about his faith.

The advisor shared a copy of the FIR on his Twitter account and said the said that allegations against him were nothing more than political victimization.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant To Prime Minister Shahbaz Gill urged Nazir Chohan to take back his flase statement against Shahzad Akbar and seek apology.

Nazir Chohan, an MPA of Jahangir Tareen group of the PTI, had claimed that Shahzad Akbar was not a Muslim as he is a member of the Qadiani minority which has been declared non-Muslim under the constitution of Pakistan.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry condmened Nazir Chohan for using religion card against Shahzad Akbar. Maulana Tahir Ashrafi also issued a statement in favor of Shahzad Akbar, saying the PM’s advisor was not a member of the minority community.
