Shehbaz Sharif released on bail
LAHORE: Shehbaz Sharif was released from sub-jail on Friday a day after the Lahore High Court approved his bail in Ashiana Housing Scheme and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President and Leader in the National Assembly was released from Minister Enclave which was declared sub-jail after he submitted his surety bonds of Rs20 million as ordered by the court.
His bail was approved by a division bench of the LHC headed by Justice Malik Shehzad on Thursday.
According to Geo News, the former Punjab chief minister left for Lahore after being released from the sub-jail.
His elder brother Nawaz Sharif has been serving a jail term in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat prison since an accountability court convicted him in Al-Azizia corruption reference.
The former prime minister is also facing health problems which prompted the authorities to shift him to a hospital few days ago.
