Shehryar Afridi’s nephew was murdered: police

Mardan: Police on Friday said that Jawad Afridi, the nephew of federal minister Shehryar Afridi, was murdered by his father-in-law and two other accomplices.

District Police Officer Mardan told a private TV channel that Babar Afridi murdered his son-in-law in collusion with his daughter and a driver and made it look like suicide.

He said the police have registered an FIR against the three suspects on the behalf of the Jawad Afridi’s father. The DPO said that the driver nominated in the case has been taken into custody.

Last month the Shehryar Afridi tweeted: “With a heavy heart, I confirm that my nephew Jawad Afridi has left for his eternal abode today. In these times of shock & pain, I request all to pray for the departed soul & patience for bereaved family. Gratitude.”
