Who is Javed Anwar who pledged Rs2 billion for flood relief efforts?

Islamabad: Javed Anwar, A Pakistani origin man from US state of Texas pledged Rs2 billion for flood victims during the first telethon held by former prime minister Imran Khan.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Sania Nishtar said out of total Rs5 billion pledges Javed Anwar had pledged Rs2 billion.

They said that Anwar pledged the money for reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts.

The PTI leaders said the money would be sent by Javed Anwar in the second phase.

Who is Javed Anwar?

Javed Anwar is called a Texas based oil tycoon, who also featured in Bush junior’s autobiography as one of the 12 immigrants who Bush presented as success example of American dream.

According to Urdu News journalist Israr Ahmed, Javed Ahmed originally belonged to a Karachi’s middle class family and he was one of the prominent Pervez Musharraf loyalist.
