Who is Lt. Col Asim, Imran Khan’s new security officer?

Islamabad: PTI said it has appointed a new security officer for former prime minister Imran Khan.

According to the party, Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Asim will be the head of Khan’s security.

Asim has served in Pakiatan Army’s elite unit, the Special Services Group (SSG) before retiring from the military.

The SSG is regarded as the most skillful and highly trained group within the army.

After Col Asim’s appointment, PTI supporters seem to have a sigh of relief. They were left worrying for Khan’s security after he said a conspiracy was being hatched to assassinate him.

Meanwhile, more than 70 security personnel comprising members from police, paramilitary soldiers from Rangers and the Frontier Corps are providing security to the former prime minister.
