Why Asif Iqbal FIA and SackShireenMazari is trending on Twitter?

Hashtag #SackShireenMazari became top Twitter trend in Pakistan after the minister and her daughter was accused of playing a role in the suspension of FIA Assistant Director Asif Iqbal.

The Human Rights Minister and her daughter Iman Hazir Mazari has rejected the allegations.

Asif Iqbal was suspended for acting as an unofficial spokesman for the Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA.

According to Twitter users Asif Iqbal was suspended over a tweet which he sent out after a case was registered against singer Meesha Shafi and eight others for their involvement in a smear campaign against Ali Zafar.

“Whoever publicly exhibits false information that harms the reputation of a person, is a crime U/S 20 of Cybercrime Act,” read Asif Iqba Chaudhry’s tweet.

Shireen Mazari has demanded Dawn newspaper to publish an apology for the incorrect news story “about how I had an FIA cyber crime official suspended after my daughter tweeted.”
