Why SCBA opposed Mazahir Ali Naqvi’s appointment to Supreme Court?

A day after Supreme Court Judge Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi got caught up in audio tape scandal, a senior lawyer has highlighted why the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) had opposed his elevation to the apex court.

Legal expert Abdul Moiz Jafferi on Sunday shared a picture of the letter that the SCBA had written to then Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar.

“Whilst there was a general critique of the violations of seniority which did not meet any explainable criteria, the specific issues with J Mazahir Naqvi are worth remembering,” Jafferi captioned the letter.
