The Guardian’s World Affairs Editor reacts to Imran Khan’s clarification on his interview
Islamabad: The Guardian’s Word Affairs Editor Julian Borger on Saturday said the newspaper “stands absolutely” by its reporting of Imran Khan’s interview which has drawn criticism from right-wing politicians.
Responding to a reader’s request to comment on Khan’s clarification, Borger said, “Khan himself is not saying we misquoted him, only that we took his remarks out of context, but we provided the context, as you can see in the story.”
Earlier, Imran Khan said that his remarks about an attack on Salman Rushdie were taken out of context.
The former prime minister said he talked against the mob justice which happened to a Sri Lankan factory manager in Sialkot.
