Lahore frog story is incorrect:Fact-check
An Urdu language newspaper recently instilled fear in Lahoris with a story that they might be eating frogs at some restaurants in the cultural capital of Pakistan.
The newspaper claimed that police have arrested two men and recovered from their possession at least 200 kg dead frogs which they were going to sell to a restaurant.
Although the police arrested the men, they let them go after being informed that the frogs were being transported to a laboratory which sells them to medical colleges.
According to police, the men were detained only because the frogs belonged to a rare species which were released to a river.
The police also released the men.
Meanwhile, some reports claimed that a restaurant is serving “frog meat” to customers in Lahore.
This story is also incorrect.
