Mahira Khan condemns Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar for abusing Marvi Sarmad on TV

Actress Mahira Khan has condemned playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar for abusing Marvi Sarmad on a TV talk show on late Tuesday night.

The actress said she was shocked at what she had heard and seen.

“Sick to the core. This same man abused a woman on TV is revered and given project after project because of what?,” she wrote referring to recent reports that stated that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has been signed plenty of work by top Pakistani drama producers following the success of his drama serial “Mere Paas Tum Ho”.

“We are as much to blame if not more for perpetuating this thinking,” Mahira Khan said on Twitter.

In an other tweet she said ” I personally think it’s imperative that those that stand with the idea of standing up for your rights should write and speak with clarity. A lot gets lost when we try to match jahaaalat with jahaalat, abuse with abuse. There MUST be a difference”.
