Malaysian leader Mahathir Mohamad to visit Pakistan from March 21

ISLAMABAD: Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad will visit Pakistan between 21-23 March 2019, Foreign Office on Wednesday.

The Malaysian leader was invited to visit Pakistan by Prime Minister Imran during his visit to Malaysia a few months ago.

According to Foreign Office, Mahathir Mohamad  will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including several leading businessmen.

Prime Minister Tun Mahathir would be the Guest of Honour at the Pakistan Day Parade on 23 March, the statement said.

During his stay in Islamabad, the guest will call on the President of Pakistan, hold one-on-one meeting with his Pakistani counterpart followed by delegation level talks.

The statement  said the two leaders are scheduled to speak at the round table meeting of the CEOs of industries willing to invest in automobile and telecommunication sectors of Pakistan.

“Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir’s visit would further cement the existing brotherly and friendly relations between the two countries. The focus of the interest is on enhancing economic, trade, investment, and defence ties, for the mutual benefit of the peoples of the two countries,” the Pakistan Foreign Office added.
