‘Top Chef’ Padma Lakshmi writes heartfelt note for Annabella Sciorra
Actress Annabella Sciorra testified last week that Harvey Weinstein pinned her hands behind her head and violently raped her more than 25 years ago, becoming the first accuser to take the stand against the former Hollywood producer in his sexual assault trial.
Hollywood stars and rights activists are voicing support for the actress who broke into tears during her testimony.
Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi on Saturday took to Instagram to share her views.
In her statement, the Indian origin celebrity assured Sciorra of her support, saying ” millions of women admire and support you”.

“This is the young, talented Annabella Sciorra who was brutalized by a man much bigger than her in every aspect.
This is the face of a woman who has had to live every day for the last 25 years with the pain, shame and anxiety of what happened to her in the prime of her life.
This is the face of a woman who this week had the grace and courage to speak up for herself and for all of us.
This is a woman who took a stand and took her power back.
Annabella- please know that millions of women admire and support you. And millions of us know what you’ve gone through firsthand. We can only imagine what a toll it took to go into that courtroom on Thursday.
